ULI’s mission is to shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide. This mission is unattainable without hearing, understanding and amplifying more diverse perspectives involved and engaged in solving today’s land use and development challenges. To truly fulfill our mission, we need leadership, membership and programming that is representative and responsive to the needs of the populations within which we work. That’s why we are intent on cultivating, fostering and nurturing a culture of inclusion.
In order to accomplish this, ULI Arizona has created the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee, whose members work to provide strategic guidance and implement systems to plan, execute and track its goal of connecting and engaging youth, students, professionals and leaders of diverse backgrounds with professional opportunities and resources within ULI and the real estate and development industry in general.
To realize this goal, the DEI Committee is dedicated to the following strategies:
– Educate and provide resources to individuals, groups and organizations on DEI topics, industry statistics and tools to increase Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the real estate and land use industry.
– Support Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in all ULI Arizona efforts, committees, programs and events.
– Promote and create awareness of issues surrounding Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at all scales, from committee meetings to larger programs.
– Inspire change, not only within ULI, but the industry at large, by keeping the topic of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion top of mind and positioned to take action.
