    The ULI Arizona Women's Leadership Initiative (WLI) is excited to host this conversation between two real estate and finance legends Molly McCabe, CEO & Founder with HaydenTanner, and Heidi Kimball, Senior Vice President with Sunbelt Holdings, illuminating their dynamic careers and how they navigated the journeys.
     
    A self-described "Scout", "MapMaker" and "BridgeBuilder" . . . Molly McCabe has spent her career cultivating practical solutions and strategies to accelerate the emergence of resilient buildings and vibrant, sustainable cities. In 2018, Molly co-founded The Lotus Campaign which works to increase housing for people experiencing homelessness. She is also the author of the books: "Practical Greening: The Bottom Line On Sustainable Property Development, Investment and Financing and “Driving value: Responsible and Resilient Property Investing in the New Millennium”.
     
    Longtime ULI leader Heidi Kimball is the Chair of the ULI Arizona District Council and is recognized as one the most influential women in real estate development in the Southwest. Heidi has extensive experience in negotiating and facilitating all types of real estate transactions, entitlements, asset management and development. She has also devoted her career to promoting and growing leaders in the industry through her professional work and her volunteer efforts.
     
    WLI is committed to highlighting, promoting, and celebrating women of influence in the industry. This conversation will be focused and thoughtful between women who shine as outstanding leaders in the real estate industry, yet casual and enlightening. Join the conversation!

    Molly McCabe, CEO & Founder, HaydenTanner Co-Founder, The Lotus Campaign, A veteran of the Real Estate Industry, Molly describes herself as a Scout, MapMaker and BridgeBuilder. When she's not raising capital or working on an development project you can find her hanging out with her Social Media Team (aka, her dogs) someplace outside. Molly co-founded The Lotus Campaign, a non-profit firm, to bring a private sector solution to increase the availability of homes for people experiencing homelessness by engaging the private, for-profit real estate community. (www.lotuscampaign.org) She founded HaydenTanner after spending many years in commercial real estate finance, capital markets and development. She has spent her career cultivating practical solutions and strategies to accelerate the emergence of resilient buildings and vibrant, sustainable cities. Now she works with clients to channel investment capital to optimize asset and portfolio level returns, enhance resiliency, community vibrancy and livability while meeting economic objectives. Recent work has focused on Qualified Opportunity Funds and Opportunity Zones. Molly is Chair Emeritus of the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Responsible Property Investment Council, former board member of the Center for Sustainability and Economic Prosperity and current board member of The Fresh Water Trust. She is also the author of the book: Practical Greening: The Bottom Line On Sustainable Property Development, Investment and Financing and “Driving value: Responsible and Resilient Property Investing in the New Millennium” for Institutional Real Estate Investor. She has taught at the Boston Architectural College and has lectured at Pinchot University. Previously she founded VC funded, commercial mortgage backed securities firm, Bridger Commercial Funding, ran Bank of America’s Real Estate Capital Markets group and was a commercial construction lender with Wells Fargo Bank. She is a trained mediator, professional business coach and LEED AP.

    Heidi Kimball

    Senior Vice President, Sunbelt Holdings

    Heidi Kimball is a Senior Vice President with Sunbelt Holdings, a recognized leader in real estate development, management and investment throughout the Southwest since 1979. Over the course of its near 40-year history, Sunbelt has developed a strong presence in commercial development and asset management, as well as the developer of some of Phoenix Metro’s most beloved residential communities including McDowell Mountain Ranch in Scottsdale, Power Ranch in the East Valley and Vistancia in the Northwest Valley. Recent acquisitions have provided unique opportunities in commercial development in urban centers, including the former Brown and Brown Chevrolet dealership site in downtown Mesa and several mixed-use projects in Phoenix. Kimball joined Sunbelt in 1982 and has worked in a variety of capacities on many of Sunbelt’s iconic projects, including most recently the Marina Heights project at Tempe Town Lake. Kimball is responsible for Sunbelt’s asset management and brokerage activities. Kimball is the Chair of ULI Arizona and serves on its Management Committee and Advisory Board. Nationally, Kimball is the Assistant Chair for ULI’s Responsible Property Investment Product Council. She also serves as a Trustee of Valley Partnership’s Political Action Committee, as well as a past board member and Chair. Kimball is a member of National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Institute of Real Estate Management, a board member of East Valley Partnership and the Mesa Arts Center Foundation, and a member of Arizona State University’s Real Estate Advisory Board. Originally from Wyoming, Heidi graduated with a BA (Psychology) from the University of Wyoming in 1980 and earned an MBA from Arizona State University in 2001.
