Earlier this year, House Bill 2720 was signed into law, requiring Arizona cities with populations greater than 75,000 to allow Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) to be built on the properties of single-family homes. As urban areas across the state face increasing housing demand and affordability challenges, ADUs present an opportunity to create more livable, diverse, and sustainable communities. However, this unprecedented change in housing policy is not without its challenges.
Join us for an in-depth exploration of ADUs and how they shape housing policy in Arizona cities. Local experts will share insights on the unique challenges being faced, including navigation of local zoning regulations, water usage concerns, and community acceptance.
Speakers include Tom Dorn, President of Dorn Policy Group; Tricia Gomes, Deputy Director of the City of Phoenix's Planning and Zoning Division; and Manjula Vaz, partner of Gammage & Burnham; moderated by Jessica Sarkissian, AICP, Owner, Upfront Planning & Entitlements, LLC.
This event is hosted by the ULI AZ Women's Leadership Initiative (WLI) Committee. All are welcome but seating is limited so be sure to register today.
Many thanks to our sponsors:
