ULI Arizona: Facing our Fears - What Can We Learn from Past Recessions?
When it comes to recessions, many young and mid-level professionals only remember the economic impact of 2008. This program will delve into the 1981-82 recession, Savings and Loan Crisis of the 90’s and early 2000’s recession as well, offering insight into what the next downturn could look like and how it could be different from 2008.
The experienced economist Rick Merritt (Elliot D. Pollack & Company) will kick the program off with a careful history and analysis of past downturns. Then, Andy Warren (Maracay Homes) and Ericka LeMaster (Alliance Bank) will share personal experiences from past recessions, lessons learned, and advice for how to prepare for what may lie ahead.
