Assistant Professor, School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Global Institute of Sustainability and Innovation, Arizona State University
David King researches the codependence of transportation and land use planning, along with transportation finance and economics. This includes parking policy, micro-transit, urban freight, and street design, and how municipal transport policies interact with land use planning. His work on transport finance examines how existing and new revenue tools can raise money for more effective and just transportation systems. His current research focuses on policy transfer, street design, and how new technologies affect transportation finance and local policy. King connects his research to issues of transport sustainability, justice, and climate resilience, specifically how local and state policies can leverage federal investments to achieve planning goals.
